Limiting and tracking responses by email address

If you would like to limit your survey to people by email address, we've built some super simple features to get you going in no time.

Depending on whether you using our email tool, an email campaign tool (like Mailchimp, Constant Contact or Campaign Monitor) or your personal or business email tool (Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, etc... ) then you will need to follow a slightly different workflow.

Luckily, we've got you covered with all the steps belowūüĎá ūüĎĆ ūüėé

 

Using SuperSimpleSurvey to send your email

When using SuperSimpleSurvey's awesome email sending tool to blast out your survey, then all you need to do is head on over to the settings panel and activate the feature.

Steps:

1. Login to your account.

2. Hover over the survey you would like to send out via email.

3. Click on the sharing icon, which will redirect you to the sharing overview page.

4. Now click on the "Sharing settings" option which will take you to the settings screen.

5. Scroll down to the option "Allow users to fill in survey more than once" and give that a good ol' click.

6. Select the option to limit surveys by email, hit save and....

ūüéČ ... And you're done :) Now when you send your survey out via email, it will automatically limit them from taking the survey more than once, regardless of device, IP or cookie.

Using an email campaign tool to send your survey

If you do need to use another tool, have no fear! We have you covered ūüĎĮ

Steps:

1. Login to your account.

2. Hover over the survey you would like to send out via email.

3. Click on the sharing icon, which will redirect you to the sharing overview page.

4. Now go ahead and click the "Send via email" button.

5. Here, select that you would like to use your own email campaign tool.

6. Because we want to track and limit the responses, we select "Yes" for wanting to track the email.

7. Now you will need to provide us with your email sending list which we will generate a unique URL for each of your email respondents. So go ahead and either upload or paste your list in. When you done, click next.

8. We will automatically create the list which you can now download.

ūüéČ ... And¬†that's it. Your downloaded list is what you will need to use in the email campaign tool of your choice. Unfortunately, there are too many out there for us to write guides on each, but I am sure that they have their own help guides available.¬†

Using Gmail or Outlook to send your survey

If you are needing to track respondents or limit the survey using email, we highly recommend to use either our awesome email tool, or a bulk tool like Mailchimp. Why? Because for every email address you need to track you need to send a different email, because the URL will be different that you need to send (that is how we track and stop people from taking it multiple times). 

But if you must, here the steps to get you going ūüöÄ

Steps:

1. Login to your account.

2. Hover over the survey you would like to send out via email.

3. Click on the sharing icon, which will redirect you to the sharing overview page.

4. Now go ahead and click the "Send via email" button.

5. Here, select that you would like to use your own "Personal or business email".

6. Because we want to track and limit the responses, we select "Yes" for wanting to track the email.

7. Now you will need to provide us with your email sending list which we will generate a unique URL for each of your email respondents. So go ahead and either upload or paste your list in. When you done, click next.

8. We will automatically create the list which you can now download.
